The Spectroscopy@IKU - Manipulating and Characterizing Molecular Architectures: from Isolated Molecules to Molecular Crystals project, funded under the HORIZON EUROPE ERA Chairs program, invites applications for a MSc. student position in molecular spectroscopy and related fields.

About the Project

This project aims to establish a center of excellence in spectroscopy, advancing research in molecular structures, reactivity, and polymorphism in molecular crystals and co-crystals. Our research contributes to addressing critical scientific and societal challenges in atmospheric and astrophysical chemistry, materials science, and molecular physics. Position Details

  • Location: Istanbul Kültür University, Ataköy Campus
  • Field: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science or a related field
  • Start Date: 01 Sep 2026
  • Duration: 1 year, renewable
  • Funding: Supported within the scope of the Spectroscopy@IKU project

Eligibility Criteria

  • Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a MSc. program in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science or a related field
  • Strong motivation for experimental research in spectroscopy
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment
  • Basic knowledge of spectroscopic methods, computational modeling, or experimental techniques is a plus
  • English proficiency is preferred for international collaboration

Responsibilities
 

  • Conduct research in molecular spectroscopy and participate in project activities
  • Collaborate with researchers within the Spectroscopy@IKU project and contribute to scientific publications
  • Utilize advanced laboratory facilities and computational tools under the supervision of senior researchers
