PATENT SUCCESS FROM OUR UNIVERSITY

Prof. Dr. Turgut Uzel, a faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering at our Faculty of Engineering, has been granted a patent for his work titled “A Method for Calculating Plate Movements in Regions Surrounded by Faults” with application number 2023/001154.

This method, which will contribute to more accurate calculations of plate movements in earthquake-prone regions, is considered a significant innovation in the field of engineering.

EUROPEAN UNION SUPPORT FOR THE “ASTRO-EDU" PROJECT

The “ASTRO-EDU” project, developed under the leadership of our university by Prof. Dr. Dursun Koçer and Assist. Prof. Ayşegül Fulya Yelkenci from the Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Physics, has been awarded funding by the European Union within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH call. The project aims to develop innovative methods in astronomy education, strengthen teachers’ digital competencies, and contribute to public science through international collaborations.

COLLABORATION MEETING BETWEEN IBB SPORTS, DARÜLACEZE, AND IKU-HAM

A significant collaboration meeting was held on Tuesday, August 12, under the coordination of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU), with the participation of representatives from the IKU Motion Analysis Evaluation, Implementation, and Research Center (IKU-HAM), Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club (IBB Sports), and the Darülaceze Presidency.

SPECTROSCOPY@IKU PROJECT BRINGS TOGETHER STAKEHOLDERS AT THE “COLLABORATION FOR INNOVATION” MEETING

On June 18, 2025, the Physical and Natural Sciences Advanced Research Center (IKU-SPECTRA), established at Istanbul Kültür University, held its first stakeholders meeting, following the planned activities of the European Union Horizon Europe Spectroscopy@IKU ERA-Chair Project.

“TEKMER INCENTIVES” SEMINAR

In cooperation with IKUANTS TEKMER, IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO), and CPA International Turkey, a seminar titled “TEKMER Incentives” was organized online on Monday, April 7, 2025. In the seminar, which addressed the support and incentive mechanisms provided to companies operating under TEKMER within the scope of Law No. 5746, detailed information was provided on the scope of government support contributing to the financial sustainability of R&D and innovation-oriented ventures, application processes, accounting implications, and the effective use of incentives.
