Hosted by Istanbul Kültür University and organized in collaboration with Marmara Technopark, IDEA Incubation, Serhat Technopark, and CPA International, the "Sustainability Spark-25" competition — where innovative ideas focused on sustainability competed — was held on Wednesday, April 16, with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe.
On April 15, 2025, Istanbul Kültür University Technology Transfer Office (IKU TTO) took part in the event titled “The Commercialization Journey of Patents: Real Experiences and Strategies” which was organized in collaboration with Entertech, TÜRKPATENT, and Istanbul Technopark.
The 1st Executive Committee Meeting of IKUANTS TEKMER, which operates within Istanbul Kültür University and was supported by KOSGEB on 15.09.2024, was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
In cooperation with IKUANTS TEKMER, IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO), and CPA International Turkey, a seminar titled “TEKMER Incentives” was organized online on Monday, April 7, 2025. In the seminar, which addressed the support and incentive mechanisms provided to companies operating under TEKMER within the scope of Law No. 5746, detailed information was provided on the scope of government support contributing to the financial sustainability of R&D and innovation-oriented ventures, application processes, accounting implications, and the effective use of incentives.
The “Introduction of the Grant Support Program for University Student Clubs and Societies” event was organized by the IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) to encourage our associate and undergraduate students to apply for grant support programs for university students.

The project ERA-Chair Spectroscopy@IKU: Manipulating and Characterizing Molecular Architecture: from Isolated Molecules to Molecular Crystals, is an innovative initiative in Türkiye, being the first to receive funding from the European Research Agency (ERA) under the Horizon Europe Framework. The LIFT UP Program, run by TAI, is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 period! This program provides senior undergraduate students the opportunity to work on industry-oriented graduation projects in TAI's fields of activity. With guidance from TAI's expert engineers and academic advisors, participants can contribute to significant projects in aviation and space, with support of up to 30,000 TL.
Prof. Dr. Turgut Uzel from the Department of Civil Engineering has accepted the invitation of the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Earth Sciences (e-ISSN: 2328-5982), an international journal registered with CSI, and has been elected as a member of the “Editorial Committee” due to the profound impact of his scientific article titled “Tectonic Movements in Lands Surrounded by Faults Are Different from Their Surroundings,” published in Geomatic. We wish our esteemed professor success in this important role.
Our "Spectroscopy@IKU" project, under the European Horizon Framework Program (HORIZON), has received support in the ERA CHAIRS call. As of Wednesday, October 2, 2024, our Vice Rector and ERA Chair Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, completed the e-signature process for the contract, along with ERA Chairperson Prof. Dr. Rui Fausto, and our TTO Manager & Project Manager, Cüneyt Genç.
The next phase of the project, a 5-year implementation process starting on January 1, 2025, has already been begun.
