Physical and Natural Sciences Advanced Research Center (IKU-SPECTRA), established within Istanbul Kültür University, operates with the aim of promoting advanced-level research in the fields of physical and natural sciences, supporting scientific excellence, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations.

The foundation of our Center was laid by the Spectroscopy@IKU project, which holds the distinction of being the first ERA Chair project in Turkey funded in this field under the Horizon Europe Programme by the European Research Agency (ERA). Within the scope of this €2.5 million project, a Center of Excellence is being established at our university to support research and innovation capacity in the fields of physics, chemistry, and materials science over the next five years.

In this context, the meeting titled “Collaboration for Innovation”, to be held on Wednesday, June 18, at the Prof. Dr. Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building of Istanbul Kültür University, aims to introduce IKU-SPECTRA’s research vision and infrastructure, and to highlight the contributions that the scientific and technological capacity developed within the center can offer to interdisciplinary collaborations. The event also seeks to enhance university–industry interaction and lay the groundwork for potential partnerships.

The meeting is open to academics who wish to advance their research using IKU-SPECTRA’s infrastructure, as well as representatives from the private sector, R&D professionals, and alumni working in related fields who are interested in collaborating with the center. The participation of individuals involved in applied projects in fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and materials science—or in areas intersecting with these disciplines—will be especially welcome.
